Clone a disk in Windows
When you are going to obsolete an old hard disk, the first thing you need to do is transfer all needed files out. What’s your idea about this kind of transferring? Copy and paste them from old disk to new disk? This is unquestionably an unwise choice, because it will cost a lot of time if you have dozens of GB or more files to migrate. Steps to Clone a Disk in Windows
After the free disk clone software has been installed, we only need to run and launch it to get the main interface where all disks are listed:
Then, select the disk we want to clone and choose “Copy Disk” function from the left side.
Next, select the disk that will save the copy of the source disk. Tip: this disk should be large enough to hold all content of the source disk; both source disk and target disk should employ the same sector; all data on the target disk will be erased.
Now 3 options are given, which makes it possible to edit partition size and location. Choose the most appropriate one and click “Next” to get a note which shows how to boot from the new disk. If you copying system disk and the Windows is running on an MBR disk, set the new disk as the default boot disk in BIOS when restarting computer. And here please click “Finish” to confirm operations.
