Move a volume segment

To move a volume segment
1 Select a disk and a volume segment.
2 Click Operations Move Segment.
If the Move Segment option is dimmed (unavailable), there is insufficient free space where you can move the volume segment.

3 Select the move option you want.

Move option	Description
Left/Right	ServerMagic displays the limits for how far the segment can be moved on the same drive. Type the number of megabytes you want before and after the segment (or, simply drag the segment left or right), then click OK. A visual representation of the moved segments is displayed in the disk map.
New Location	ServerMagic displays a list of disks and locations where the segment can be moved. The volume segments are also identified. Select the disk where you want to move the segment from the Disk drop-down list. Click the position where you want to move the segment, then select an unallocated space. Click OK to return to the ServerMagic window.You can also move a volume segment to a new location by dragging a segment from the tree view or disk map and dropping it on an unallocated space.
